Chandigarh, November 14, 2015: Punjab Chief Minister Mr.Parkash Singh Badal today gave his nod to sanction Rs.20 Cr for the ongoing construction of two Meritorious Schools at Sangrur and Ferozepur besides hostels for boys and girls within the Meritorious School at Patiala.
Presiding over a meeting to review the progress of Meritorious Schools here at his residence this morning, Mr. Badal gave approval to grant Rs. 5 Cr. each for the completion of upcoming Meritorious Schools at Sangrur and Ferozepur besides sanctioning a sum of Rs. 10 Cr. for the construction of hostels for boys and girls within the campus of Meritorious Schools at Patiala.
The Chief Minister directed the Major Gen. (Retd.) K.A.S. Bhullar, Project Director, Society for Poor & Meritorious students of Punjab to get the construction work of these schools at Ferozepur and Sangrur well before the commencement of next academic session. Mr. Badal asked him to personally oversee the entire construction operations to ensure timely completion of these schools and the hostels for boys and girls at Patiala.
The meeting was attended by MD PIDB Mr. A Venu Prasad, Special Principal Secretary to CM Mr. Ajoy Sharma and Major Gen. (Retd.) K.A.S. Bhullar, Project Director, Society for Poor & Meritorious students of Punjab.
