Jalandhar, March 19, 2019: Under the aegis of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Mr.Rajesh Bali, Field Publicity Officer, Field Outreach Bureau, organized an awareness camp at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar with the motive to aware the young students about casting their precious votes in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections scheduled on 19th May, 2019.
He talked about SVEEP which is the Flagship Programme of Election Commission of India and also conducted a quiz competition for the students with the purpose to aware students about ECI and voting rights. He also told the students about www.nvsp.in portal for those who haven’t yet registered themselves for voting cards.
Mr. Akshay Kumar, District Administration told the students about c-VIGIL to make them more informed and vigilant citizens and ensure fair elections.
Principal Dr. Sucharita Sharma opined that such awareness initiatives are necessary for the young students as they are our tomorrow’s leaders and considering the vast youth, it is important for them to be informative.
The winners of Quiz Competition organized by Mr. Rajesh Bali are Tanya, Madhav, Harneet Singh, Akshit, Saloni, Amardeep, Taranveer Singh, Abhinav and Muskaan. They were honoured and given awards for their brilliant performance. Principal Dr. Sucharita Sharma congratulated Dr. Roopali Sood and Dr. Monika Arora for successfully organizing the event.
