Chandigarh, July 24, 2019: Once in 30 Days, a forum of like-minded people from Tricity, will host a talk on “Remembering the Partition” by Mallika Ahluwalia, CEO, Curator and co-founder of the world's first Partition Museum, on July 26, 2019 at The Village Resorts, located on Chandigarh-Zirakpur entry point on Dakshin Marg. The programme will start at 6 PM and there is no entry fee.

Mallika will talk about the process of setting up of the world’s first people’s museum, which was opened at Town Hall, Amritsar, in August 2017. While collecting and curating the materials for the museum, how she came across hundreds of heart-breaking tales of resilience and hope, against the mayhem of the partition of 1947. She felt the need to document these stories - the inspirational tales of 21 individuals, who achieved meteoric heights in their respective fields and contributed immensely to the nation building.

Dr Vandana Shukla, co-founder of ‘Once in 30 Days’, said, “This is our second event, as the first speaker invited by the group last month was, film maker Vivek Agnihotri, who had debated in favour of the need for Right to Know the Truth.”

Mallika’s book ‘Divided by Partition, United by Resilience: 21 Inspirational Stories from 1947’ is published by Roopa. The book chronicles life stories of 21 extraordinary individuals, including former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, BJP leader L K Advani, lyricist Gulzar, Kuldip Nayar, film maker Govind Nihalani, Milkha Singh and Ram Jethmalani.
