ATTENTION ENGINEERS: Option of 1 year extension

Chandigarh, October 30, 2012: The Punjab government today clarified that option of one year extension would also be applicable for the engineers of Irrigation, PWD and Water Supply and Sanitation Department. Amended notification in this regard has been issued.

Clarifying this, an official spokesperson of the Finance Department said that earlier this extension of one year service was not applicable on the engineers of Irrigation, PWD and Water Supply and Sanitation Department. Now the clause 3.26 (c) has been deleted, which abandoned them to fall in the purview of one year extension option and were restricted them to retire at the age of 58 year. Now rule 3.26 (a) and 3.26 (b) would also be applicable on the engineers of Irrigation, PWD and Water Supply and Sanitation Department. The spokesperson further said that besides this, provision has been made for PCS (judicial branch) on basis of earlier amendment.
