Asian Top Scorer Basketball Player Abhi Kumar Honoured With Rs.1 Lakh

Chandigarh, March 20, 2016: The Punjab Education Minister Dr.Daljit Singh Cheema here today honoured top Scorer of 7th Asian School Basketball Championship Abhi Kumar Dikao with cash prize of Rs One lakh. Sahil Chopra had come to seek blessings from the Minister along with his coach Amarjot Singh.
Dr. Cheema was also briefed on the achievements of Sahil who had set a record by scored 115 points at 7th Asian School Basketball Championship held at Chiang Mai (Thailand) recently. Abhi is student of 10+2 at Government Senior Secondary School Multipurpose, Patiala.
On the occasion Dr. Cheema said that Abhi has set an example for aspiring players of the state and has also proved that one can achieve new heights if we have commitment towards our goals and work hard honestly. Dr. Cheema exhorted the budding players of the state particularly at school level to follow his example.
Deputy Director (Sports) Mr. Sarabhjit Singh Toor, Coach Mr. Amarjot Singh, Mr. K.K. Sachdeva, Mr. Jagtar Singh were also present on the occasion.
