Asha Kumari advised Jai Ram Government not to work in haste

Dharamshala, January 13, 2018: The Congress party in charge for Punjab and the MLA of HP from Dalhousie Ms Asha Kumari who was in news recently due to a slapping dual with a police lady on Mall Shimla, spoke wonderfully in the HP assembly on Friday. While speaking from the opposition bench as the last speaker of the debate, Asha Kumari took up the issue of the age of the CMs. The ruling party was in the news after the swearing in of BJP government, as it was claimed that Jai Ram Thakur is the youngest CM in the state.

Asha said, "YS Parmar was 45 when he assumed CM's office, Ram Lal was 48, Shanta Kumar was just 42, Vir Bhadra Singh was around 49 and PK Dhumal was 53 .”Jai Ram Thakur is now 53-years-old.

She said that the translation of the governors speech from Hindi to English was also not checked properly, sighting example of the text she said, “Rich natural grandeur and holy religious places of Himachal are unique in itself. It harbours immense tourism potential for which the government will encourage Adventure Tourism.” What it means as religious tourism is separate to adventure tourism. She added that it seems that the bureaucracy has made it in haste and without application of mind.

She praised IPH Minister Mohinder Singh that he comes to the assembly with proper home work, and advised others to follow it.

She asked the CM , “If you wanted to attach the Governors address with your Vision document , than you should bring here your Vision document too so that public could know your vision.” She said that it is uncertain when your vision changes. To elaborate it, she said that nearly 4 years back BJP made government in centre and then was of the vision that MNREGA is the worst scheme and now its stand is that nothing is better than MNREGA, similarly another stand was, that Aadhaar is a wrong item and today the Government’s stand is that it should be linked to everything. Same is the case with FDI implementation.

“So today, as you are criticising our schemes, we will see that you shall adopt them in three years", she said.

Asha Kumari is a leader of Indian National Congress and an All India Congress Committee secretary and AICC in charge of Punjab. She is a member of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Dalhousie.
