ARUNA CHAUDHARY THANKS PUNJAB CM FOR TAKING HISTORICAL DECISION TO RESTORE RESERVATION IN PROMOTION FOR SC CATEGORY EMPLOYEES

Chandigarh, August 1, 2018: The Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister, Punjab, Mrs.Aruna Chaudhary has termed as historic the decision taken by the Punjab Cabinet for restoring the reservation in promotions for the SC category employees and thanked the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
In a statement here today, Mrs.Chaudhary said that the Punjab Government is fully committed to the welfare of the dalits, minorities and downtrodden people and is making continuous efforts for protecting their interests. The minister divulged that the Punjab Cabinet has given a big relief to the SC employees of the government sector by restoring the 14 percent reservation quota in promotions of group ‘A’ and ‘B’ services and 20 percent quota in group ‘D’ services. This reservation would also be applicable with regard to the proforma promotion and the appointment through transfer of the SC category employees.
Mrs. Chaudhary further said that this was the long pending demand of the SC category employees and by fulfilling it the Captain Government has won the hearts of the SC category people. The minister also said that dalits constitute one-third of the population in Punjab which is the highest in country. The minister also said that the congress has always been the supporter of the dalit people and now with the restoring of reservation in promotion it has once again been proved that the interests of the SC category are secure in the Captain Amarinder Singh led government.
