Arrangements for International Kabaddi Tournament starts at war footing level
Chandigarh, November 21, 2019: On the instructions of Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Punjab Mr.Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, the authorities concerned from various departments have started working vigorously to finalize proper arrangements for the International Kabaddi Tournament 2019. They claimed that work will be done well before the tournament begins. Stating this here today, a government spokesman said that nine teams are participating in the tournament and all their matches will be held in seven districts i.e. Kapurthala, Amritsar, Ferozepur, Bathinda, Patiala, RoopNagar and Gurdaspur. The Venue Committees of these districts under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioners and other officers are working round the clock to complete arrangements. According to the spokesman, stadiums are being renovated, repaired beside, the arrangement of lights and back-up generators. According to the spokesman, preparations are also being made for the players' retiring rooms, their boarding, lodging, as well as seating areas of 15 to 20 thousand spectators and parking outside the stadiums. Roads and squares to the stadiums are being decorated and cleanliness is being focused. According to the spokesman this time, special attention is being paid to the decoration of the stadiums and the use of backdrops, hoarding and banners.
