LUDHIANA, April 4, 2018: An Army Recruitment Rally which is being conducted by Army Recruiting Office (ARO) Ludhiana started at Dholewal Military Station, Ludhiana under the aegis of Headquarters Recruiting Zone (Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir) on Wednesday and will continue till Sunday (April 8).

The rally is covering candidates from the districts of Ludhiana, Roopnagar and SAS Nagar (Mohali) and Moga.

The recruitment is being done for the posts include Soldier (General Duty), Soldier (Clerk/Storekeeper Technical), Soldier Nursing Clerk and Army Technical Posts).

Col AK Ranaut, Director Recruiting (Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir), briefed media personnel at rally site and informed that a total of 15,134 candidates have registered for the current rally at Ludhiana.

He further revealed that the candidates are being screened for their physical fitness and measurements, medical examination and documentation. The candidates are being strictly screened for Drug intake by the medical officers, using their professional expertise and Drug Screening Kits, he told.

"Successful candidates would then undergo a written test on May 27, 2018, and those making into merit would then be dispatched to various training centres for training and further induction into the arms and services of the Indian Army", he added.

He further informed that the recruitment process is completely computerized and absolutely transparent involving five independent and separate boards of officers detailed by various units and headquarters.

He exhorted upon the desirable candidates, not to fall prey to touts and undesirable elements and participate wholeheartedly to meet their aspirations of serving the nation by joining the Indian Army.

Col AK Ranaut further conveyed his appreciation to 715 (I) AD Brigade for providing overwhelming assistance and thanked Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana, Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of Police Ludhiana, PSPCL authorities, Chief Superior and Executive Engineer Public Health Services for their support to the Director Recruiting ARO Ludhiana for the conduct of this mega event.
