Jalandhar, May 26, 2014: Veterans are the backbone of 63 Cavalry Regiment and it is because of their efforts and selfless deeds, the Regiment has reached the epitome of success. They continue to guide and steer our success story. The Regiment has always taken immense pride in looking after its veterans and ensuring a successful and worthy second innings in life. Thus to make the event momentous and unique an Empowerment Seminar was held on 25 May 2014 by 63 Cavalry which is renowned for its efforts towards the veterans and the steps taken for their honing of skills and better placement and jobs for a bright future. The Empowerment Seminar was attended by many veterans of TRESATH fraternity which included special representatives of Director General Resettlement, representatives of Army Placement Node and members of a galaxy of corporate companies.

The event was conducted in two phases. In phase I, the representatives of various agencies educated the veterans about the various options available for second career. This gave a unique opportunities to our Ex Servicemen to further enhance their potential and work towards a better future. The talks by Mr T Muralidharan, Chairman, TMI Group and Ms Bhawna Gadre, Management coordinator at TARA were well attended and admired. It added great value to the Empowerment Seminar and lot of queries were addressed in the Question and Answer Session. The success of Empowerment Seminar is attributable to stupendous and immaculate efforts of Lt Col (Retd) IS Gahlaut and Lt Col (Retd) SK Gupta.

In Phase II, there were in depth and highly motivating success stories of our veterans in their second careers in the form of case studies were presented by Risaldar Major(Retired) Rajinder Sharma, Risaldar Major(Retired) Joginder Singh and Naib Risaldar (Retired) Gurpreet Singh. They instilled faith and a never say die spirit true to Tresath men amongst the veterans. They brought out how they successfully scripted a saga of success even in their second career with their will to achieve newer heights. It was followed by a invigorating talk by Risaldar Rajesh Kumar on the Veterans Helpline and the efforts of Regiment in reaching out to our veterans.

On this occasion Lt Gen Kamaljit Singh, honoured the war veterans and presented gifts and mementoes to every individual attending the seminar.

The history, saga and glory of 63 Cavalry and Jai Paltan lines in Alwar are entwined. It was at this hallowed place where 63 Cavalry was born and because of the rich heritage, it stands today at the pinnacle of glory. The land of Rajputs have always produced gallant sons of soul where the only truth is death before dishonour and who else truly epitomises but 63 Cavalry. As a tribute to this onerous relation, the Jai Paltan Lines gate has been renovated and re christened as Jai Paltan Lines Heritage Memorial and was dedicated to 63 Cavalry on 24 May 2014.
