Ludhiana, December 29, 2018: Ar Sanjay Goel, Director, Ludhiana Smart City Limited has welcomed a public notice issued by Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh. In a statement here today, he added the public notice appearing in the dailies today states that “it has been observed that there are encroachments in front of houses/institution buildings and commercial buildings in Sector 19, Chandigarh. It is, therefore, notified for the general public of the city of Chandigarh with the direction to remove all such encroachments in front of their houses/ institution building and commercial buildings in Sector 19, Chandigarh which is under the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh. The house owners/occupiers shall remove all encroachments in front of their houses/institution buildings and commercial buildings within a period of 03 days failing which the same will be removed by the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh and the charges therefore shall be recovered from the owners/occupants.”
Ar Goel said a similar notice can be issued all over Punjab or at least cities like Ludhiana having maximum encroachments. He added he has already forwarded his point of view to Navjot Singh Sidhu, Minister for Local Government, Punjab, for necessary and adequate action. He opined that removal of widespread encroachments in front of houses/ institution building and commercial buildings in Ludhiana, will ultimately provide a relief to general public.
