ANURAG THAKUR says thanks to Himachal CM

Dharamsala, January 29, 2013: Anurag Thakur, President HPCA, has thanked HP CM and his father for coming to stadium in Dharamsala during ODI played here on January 27.

He said,” I thank the Himachal chief minister Virbhadra Singh, Leader of Opposition in Himachal Vidhan Sabha Prem Kumar Dhumal for sparing some time to attend the match and bless us.”

He also thanked Deputy Commissioner of Kangra, Superintendent of Police and all their associates alongwith the local administration who came forward to support the HPCA  in its successful organisation of the maiden one day international played at HPCA’s picturesque stadium has put Himachal on the global map of international cricket and also become a part of this historic event.

“This is a feather in the cap not only of HPCA but the state as well,” he added

Taking to this reporter on phone , Anuraag went further to thank the other areas and said, “ I also pay my gratitude for all HPCA members who gave their best in materialising this dream. I appreciate and thank the media as well which played a significant role in widely publicising the positive picture of the match in every nook and corner of the world. It is because of the media only that our stadium is hugely appreciated throughout the world and even counted among the best in the world.”

He said, “I am extremely indebted towards the BCCI which continuously showed faith in us and supported us in every manner and made it possible for us.”

The day of January 27, 2013 become historic for Himachal in general and Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association in particular when Indian batsman Gautam Ghambir faced the first international cricket ball by England bowler Steven Finn bowled at this picturesque stadium at Dharamshala.
