Annual Sports meet concluded at University College, Jalandhar

Jalandhar, March 1, 2017: Guru Nanak Dev University College, Jalandhar organised Annual Sports Meet 2017 from Feb 27th to March 1st. The Chief Guest for the closing ceremony was AIG Railways Sardar Lakhwinder Pal Khera. Various games like Chess, Carom, Table Tennis, Badminton, volleyball, Virtual Gaming, Musical Chair, Tug of War and Treasure hunt were played during this meet.

Principal Dr. Randhawa, in his speech, congratulated all the 600 participants along with the winners. He also assured that the university and the college will, in future, develop the required infrastructure for sports for the overall development of the students .He also emphasised the importance of sports quoting the famous proverb “All work and No Play makes a Jack Dull Boy” citing this quote he said that sports plays an equally important role in student’s life. Sports make person discipline, hard working and punctual.

Lakhwinder pal Khera said that sports are an integral part of human development. sports give us immense strength to overcome hardships of life. He urged youth to engage themselves more in sports activities as country need good sportsmen to mark their presence in world map.

Mr Manjit Singh Dhall Director Sports GNDU College also shared his experience as sportsmen and shared how sports changed his life and helped him throughout in becoming what he is today. He assured student that he will encourage sports in the same manner and will work towards the betterment of sports infrastructure in the college.

The chief guest congratulated the winner and gave away the prizes.
