Chandigarh, December 7, 2012: Welcome Rewards, industry-leading loyalty programme from Hotels.com®, is celebrating its 1st anniversary in India as the global membership base exceeds five million travellers since it launched in the US in 2008.

Rewarding Indian leisure and business travellers with one free night’s accommodation for every ten nights stayed, the Welcome Rewards programme gives Hotels.com customers the chance to redeem their free night’s accommodation across more than 85,000 hotels globally, with no blackout periods imposed.

Rajiv Malhotra, Head of Marketing, South East Asia, for Hotels.com, said: “Indians love loyalty programmes and we are proud of Welcome Rewards as it is simple and easy-to-use as well as more generous than many existing hotel loyalty programmes. The beauty of Welcome Rewards is that it’s not only for frequent travellers. Welcome Rewards credits never expire as long as there is activity on the account every 12 months so travellers can redeem when it suits them.”

Sharing her experience with Welcome Rewards, Sujata Reddy, a well known Indian blogger said, “One of the biggest advantages of being a member of Hotels.com is having access to their loyalty programme – Welcome Rewards. Registering was surprisingly easy, with just a handful of basic details to be filled in. It took me all of 10 seconds to sign up and now I’m addicted to browsing through deals listed with top hotels from all over the world! Plus, Welcome Rewards enables you to get more out of an already good deal, with free nights attached to them.”
