Noida, June 14, 2017: All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the objective of cooperation in development and promotion of Football in India. The MoU focuses on innovation and execution of research projects and establishing a robust education system in areas of coaching and football administration.

Mr.Kushal Das, General Secretary, AIFF during the signing ceremony remarked, “This is a great opportunity created by AIFF and Amity University for those interested in technical and management education in the field of football. The objective of this MoU is to provide exposure to Indian professionals of state-of-the-art knowhow in global football as well as to carry out cutting-edge research domestically to enhance football knowledge in India. The focus of AIFF has always been to better the football ecosystem of the country and with Amity, it is another step taken towards achieving that goal".

Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh while calling MoU a path breaking partnership said that the MoU aims to fulfil AIFF’s goal of creating an efficient football ecosystem and pave way for competitive success at International stage. “This will further strengthen our commitment to contribute to the development of Indian football”, said Dr. Shukla.

Dr. Kalpana Sharma, Director Amity School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences expressed the need for standardized coach education program for the University graduates and physical education professionals through integrating coach education program within the curriculum She commented that as part of the MoU, an International Coaches’ Conference to be hosted by Amity University later this year. Additionally, AIFF and Amity would also be working towards carrying out research projects on various domestic leagues and players, developing courses in football administration and integrating coach and referee development courses within Degree programs in Physical Education.
