Alumni Meet at Ramgarhia Girls College

Ludhiana, April 24, 2018: The Alumni Association of Ramgarhia Girls College organized a get-together for old students in the college premises on Tuesday morning. It was a much awaited event for ex-students to catch-up with old friends, and to meet their teachers.

Principal Dr.Inderjit Kaur, President of the Association, accorded a warm welcome to all the members. She said that the alumni of the college can contribute in a big way to their Alma Mater by inspiring students to choose the profession of their choice.

Vice-President of the Alumni Association, Mrs.Kawaljit Kalsi, Principal, Ramgarhia Girls Senior Secondary School, who also happens to be alumnus of the college of 1982 batch, said that one’s college is responsible for grooming and chiseling its students.

Mrs.Gunwant Kaur, Principal, Girls High, School Muradpura, also Alumnus of the college of 1975 batch expressed her gratitude for her Alma mater.

Around hundred old students from different walks of life attended the meet. Students who had made their careers in the field of theatre, cinema, banking, teaching, and hotel industry shared their experiences and reminisced of days gone by.

Rakhi and Kamaljeet Kaur of 2000 batch talked of the role of Women education in making girls self sufficient and confident. They gave credit to the faculty of the college for giving them wings to fly. Harsimran Singh, a student of M.A Musical Vocal felt nostalgic while talking about the opportunities given to him by the college and said that this college has always encouraged him to explore the hidden world and to make a place to himself.

The event ended with a cultural programme by students of Post Graduate Department of Music. Khushkamaldeep Kaur Dhindsa expressed her joy with the song ‘Aapki Nazroon Ne Samjha’and Mehak sang ‘Mere Maula’. It was a day of thanks giving, sharing and committing to the cause of education.
