Alumni Meet of English Department, PU

Chandigarh, May 2, 2019: The Panjab University Alumni Association held a film screening and discussion session with Professor M.L. Raina, who has been Emeritus Fellow and Professor at the department of English and Cultural Studies at English Auditorium, here today. The film titled ‘The Remains of the Day’, based on a novel of the same name by Kazuo Ishiguro. Prof.Deepti Gupta, Dean Alumni Relations added that the session had been organised as a special gesture towards the 1960-63 batches of the department. She said that Alumni Meets can not all have the same kind of format as each group is different in its tastes, this session was organised on the request of these batches.
Mr Rajan Kashyap, Mr Arjan Singh, Mr Gurbirinder Singh Aujla and Mrs Neelam Dhamija were part of these batches. The alumni group were delighted to interact with Prof. M. L. Raina and also presented him with a token of their regard. Prof. Gupta informed the audience that the Alumni Association is offering a dual membership scheme to each student; each ex-student pays RS 1500 and becomes a life member of both the department and the Panjab University Alumni Association.
