Chandigarh, June 20, 2014: The Punjab Government has put the task of installation of High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) on old vehicles on high pace. Disclosing this here today State Transport Commissioner Prithi Chand said that earlier the installation of High Security Registration Plates schedule was May, 2014 but a majority of people could not comply the orders.
He further said that as per the schedule the dead line has now fixed on August 31, 2014. He said that in the pursuance of orders of the Supreme Court any vehicle on road without High Security Registration Plates was illegal.
Prithi Chand appealed to the general public to ensure installation of plates on their vehicles failing which they have to face legal action in the form of challans and impound of vehicle.
He further said that the receipt of the acknowledgment would be valid for 20 days only after that period the fee would be forfeited and owner would have to apply afresh.
