All branches of finance department to come under one roof- Dhindsa

Chandigarh, July 13, 2014:  All branches of Finance and Planning Department would be placed under one roof as the construction of ‘Vitt te Yojna Bhawan’ at Chandigarh is on full swing and this project is likely to be completed in two years.
Disclosing this, Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Finance and Planning Minister, Punjab said that this Bhawan would cover about 550 officers/officials of 11 different departments of Punjab working in various rented buildings at Chandigarh. The estimated cost of Bhawan would be Rs 60 crore.
A Spokesperson of Finance Department said that ‘Vitt te Yojna Bhawan’ would have modern facilities like fire fighting, Fire Alarm, Air-conditioning VRV system, lifts and external development etc.  He said that the total area of this plot is 1.737 acre.  Built up area would be 1,31,055 sq. ft.  “This Bhawan would be constructed as a seven storey building including basement. The basement area would cover the parking of about 200 cars” he added.  
Spokesperson further said that the construction work of this project is being executed by the Public Works Department (Buildings and Roads) and the executing agency is M/S Deepak Builders, Ludhiana.  The project is being funded by Department of Planning, Punjab.
