Akali Dal’s victory indicates return of party in power in 2022: Youth Akali Dal
Ludhiana, October 24, 2019: The Youth Akali Dal workers led by district president Gurdeep Singh Gosha celebrated the victory of Shiromani Akali dal candidate Manpreet Singh Ayali in Dakha constituency. Gurdeep Singh Gosha said that the victory of Akali Dal indicate the return of party in power in 2022. The large number of Youth Akali Dal workers joined the road show of Shiromani AKali Dal candidate Manpreet Singh Ayali. Speaking on the occasion, Gurdeep Singh Gosha said that Congress candidate has lost due to failure of Government in last 2.5 years. Gosha said that the people of Dakha have rejected the Congress party and in 2022, the people of Punjab will reject the Congress and elect Shiromani Akali Dal. He said that the government machinery, Ministers, MP, MLA from Punjab were campaigning for Congress candidate and the police force was also misused. Inspite of threats and misuse of power, the Akali Dal candidate has registered victory with huge margin. The three visits of Chief Minister Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh also failed to impress the voters of Dakha. Former Minister Bikram Singh Majithia and Manpreet Singh Ayali appreciated the efforts of Youth wing in victory of party in Dakha. DAKHA BY-ELECTION: MANPREET SINGH AYALI OF SHIROMANI AKALI DAL WINS BY 14672 VOTES Ludhiana, October 24, 2019: Manpreet Singh Ayali of Shiromani Akali Dal won the Dakha By-election by securing 66,297 votes. He defeated Capt Sandeep Singh Sandhu of Indian National Congress with a margin of 14,672 votes. Capt Sandhu secured 51,625 votes. Sukdev Singh Chak of Lok Insaf Party (LIP) stood third by securing 8,441 votes, while Amandeep Singh Mohi of Aam Aadmi Party secured 2,804 votes. While providing information, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Pradeep Kumar Agrawal informed that Simrandeep Singh of Apna Punjab Party secured 340 votes, Gurjit Singh of Nationalist Justice Party secured 89 votes, Joginder Singh Vegal of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) secured 256 votes, while independent candidates Harbans Singh Jalal secured 140, Gurdeep Singh Kahlon 226 votes, Jai Parkash Jain 535 votes and Baldev Singh secured 397 votes. A total of 642 voters chose to press NOTA as their option. On the completion of counting process, Returning Officer Amrinder Singh Malhi handed over winning certificate to Manpreet Singh Ayali. The District Election Officer thanked all stakeholders for the completion of the Dakha By-election in a peaceful manner.
