Ludhiana, November 11, 2016: As talks between representatives of the Punjab Aided School Teachers and Other Employees Union and the Punjab Government have hit a deadlock, the senior leaders of the state union have decided to observe fast unto death.

Ten senior leaders President and General Secretary of the Ludhiana Unit will sit voluntarily along with the ten state leaders outside the residence of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in Chandigarh on November 16 as decided by the state unit to press for long pending demand of merger.

The teachers have been protesting for the fulfillment of their demand for the past almost four years.

Chief Minister should take the matter individually & listen the representatives of the union patiently as the two penal meetings with the stubbornly & harsh attitude of education minister have been ended without any positive result, said Davinder Rehan,
Press Secretary, Punjab Aided School Teacher's and Other Employees Union, Ludhiana District in a statement here on Friday.
