AICTE Training & Learning (ATAL) Workshop on ‘3D printing and Design’ Concludes

Chandigarh, November 29, 2019: One week AICTE Training & Learning (ATAL) Workshop on “3D PRINTING & DESIGN was held in University Institute of Engineering & Technology from 25th Nov to 29th Nov 2019. Sixty three Participants took part in this progamme, from all over India covering almost all states like Gujrat, Andhra, Tamilnadu, Karnatka, Haryana, West Bengal, Punjab. The progamme was inaugurated by our honable visionary DUI and officiating VC Prof. Shankar Ji Jha and Prof. Sehijpal Singh, Principal GNDEC, Ludhiana. The plenary talk was presented by Prof. Sehijpal Singh, Principal GNDEC, and Ludhiana. Professor Harmesh Kansal, Coordinator of the workshop sensitized about the applications of 3D printing and the design in various applications in solving the real life problems. Fourteen experts from different institutions from all over India and industry delivered expert lecture in the area of 3D printing and design during the workshop, while there were five hand on experience sessions each on every day in afternoon at Centre of Excellence In Industrial and Product Design PEC University of Technology Chandigarh, NITTTR Chandigarh, DIC lab UIET and Dr. HSJIDS and hospital, PU Chandigarh. The actual printing of various parts on different printers such as FDM printers and polyjet printers and the practical exposure to various 3D scanners further enriched their knowledge base in the area of 3D printing. Dr. R. K. Soni, Director, ATAL initiative and Regional officer, AICTE was Chief Guest and Prof. Savita Gupta, Director UIET was Guest of Honour for valedictory session on the concluding day. The certificates were distributed to the participants on the successful completion of this workshop.
