Ludhiana, October 25, 2019: EXCELLENT PERFORMER AWARD TO KAPURTHALA AND FARIDKOT AICRP(S) CENTRES: The All India Coordinated Research Project in Sugarcanecentres of Punjab Agricultural University at Regional Research Station, Kapurthala and Faridkot have been conferred with ‘Excellent Performer Award” based on mean performance of 22 AICRP centres in overall conduct of experimental trials during 2018-19. The awards were presented to the teams of both the centres by Dr RK Singh, ADG (CC) and Dr A.D. Pathak, Director and Project Coordinator, IASRI Lucknow during the Annual Group Meeting held at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharward (Karnataka) from October 14-16, 2019. The award was received by Dr Paramjit Singh, Director, RRS, Kapurthalaalong with Sugarcane scientists Dr Gulzar Singh Sanghera, Senior Breeder Sugarcane, Dr Rajinder Kumar, Assistant Entomologist, Dr LenikaKashyap Assistant Biochemist and Dr Anuradha, Assistant Plant Pathologist for Kapurthula Centre and Dr Kuldeep Singh, Senior Agronomist and Dr Vikrant Singh, Assistant Plant Breeder for Faridkot Centre. Dr B.S. Dhillon,Vice Chancellor,and Dr N. S. Bains,Director of Research congratulated both the centres for this achievement.

PAU’s MS RANDHAWA LIBRARY GETS ICAR AWARD
Mohinder Singh Randhawa Library, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been conferred with the ICAR award for the J-Gate@CeRA Best User Profile Registrations-2019 in the North Zone, thus, creating maximum number of user profiles in Consortium for e-Resources in Agriculture (CeRA). Dr (Mrs) Yogita Sharma, Deputy Librarian, Nodal Officer, CeRA, and Dr (Mrs) Suniti Bala, Assistant Librarian, received the award during the “J-gate@CeRA Regional Programme 2019,” held for the libraries of North Zone Agricultural Universities and Institutes of ICAR at the National Agricultural Science Complex, New Delhi, on October 23, 2019.
Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, congratulated the University Librarian Dr (Mrs) Param Pal Sahota, library faculty and staff for this achievement.
