Aequs Foundation inaugurates Mobile Science Lab at Belagavi

Aequs Foundation has adopted 20 government schools near Aequs SEZ for pursuing various projects in the areas of Health and Hygiene, STEM Education, and Safety

Belagavi, December 24, 2018: With the objective of augmenting STEM education for government school children, Aequs Foundation, in association with Agastya Foundation, inaugurated a Mobile Science Lab, along with few other educational projects, today in Kannada Higher Primary School, Hunnur Mastiholi, Narsingpur, Hukkeri, Belagavi. This was a part of the foundation’s ongoing educational initiatives in the region. The event also showcased a Science Fair organized by the school students. Over 1600 students of government run schools in the region would benefit from the Mobile Science Lab.

Shri Mohan Dandin, Block Education Officer of Hukkeri Taluk, the Chief Guest at the event, inaugurated the programs along with other dignitaries from the region. Over 300 students and teachers of the higher primary school were part of this inauguration program. Around 30 new teachers were inducted during the event who would be supporting the education programs.

Besides the Science vehicle and Fair, Vasantha, an after-school program to facilitate learning after school hours and help school dropouts get back into mainstream academics, was also launched at the event.

A Digital Learning Centre as well as Computer Learning Centre were also inaugurated with the aim of introducing visual learning methods to make subjects such as Mathematics, Science and English more interesting and promoting computer & digital literacy. Besides students, the computer centre also aims to train the government school teachers on computer education to ensure long-term impact from the project.

Another initiative, Rainwater Harvesting & Borewell Recharge, was flagged off to save water and help in creating awareness about conservation of water among the students.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Kaul, Managing Director, Aequs Aerospace and Group CFO, said “‘India is a growing’ and the country can achieve a lot more by tapping the true potential of the young generation. Many children are still deprived of quality education as well as the infrastructure that can support proper education. The mobile science lab launched by Aequs Foundation today, along with digital and computer learning centres, is a step towards achieving this goal. Awareness about conservation of nature, especially water, is an important mission and rainwater harvesting project will help our future generation understand the important role they can play in preserving a depleting resource like water. We look forward to adopting many more schools in the future and contribute to the welfare of the community.”
