ADLOSECON-14 got concluded

Ludhiana, November 16, 2014: ADOLESCON-14 conference was formally inaugurated yesterday evening by Dr SS Gill, Vice Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot and Dr Karanjit,Director, Punjab Health Services was the Guest of HonourOrganizing Secretary-Dr Harmesh Singh Bains informed that the concluding day of two-day conference started with panel discussion on ‘Mentoring the mind’. Dr Satish Sharma, Dr RG Patil, Dr Ashu Arora, Dr Sukhmeet Singh and Dr Poonam Bhatia participated in the discussion.Dr Sharad Agarkhedkar from Pune delivered a talk on ‘Different sexual orientation’ followed by lectures on ‘Sextexting’ by Dr Anjali Saxena and ‘Emerging role of adolescent expert in National policies’ by Dr Manjulata Sharma.Dr Padmashree Bafna, Dr Nikhil Kharod and Dr  Kiran Vaswani spoke on the topics including ‘Health interventions for tribal adolescents,’ ‘Adolescent medicine as a super-specialty’ and ‘Gatekeeper’s role in high risk behaviors of teens’ respectively.  Other topics covered in today’s scientific sessions include ‘Office management of anemia in teens’ by Dr Jugesh Chatwal ‘Bacterial meningitis’ by Dr A.K. Dutta and ‘Menstrual Issues’ by Sushma Desai.Dr Vanie Thaper gave deliberations on ‘Role of pediatrician in prevention and management.  In the post- lunch sessin, Dr Nilima Rao spoke on ‘Approach to an adolescent with headache’ followed by other lectures on ‘Hypertension in teens’ by  Dr Amita Rao,  ‘Relationships and teenagers’ by Dr Nishikant Kotwal and Dr T.S. Jain delivered Swati Bhave, M.K.C. Nair oration.

Panel discussion on ‘Adolescent sexual abuse’ was also held which was participated by  Dr Anjali Saxena, Dr Piyali Bhattacharya, Dr RS Sibia, Dr Rashmi Gupta and Dr AS Chawla. Lectures on the topics of ‘Sleep disorders’ and ‘Developing “Adole-sense” was nicely delivered by Dr Mona Basker and Dr Pramod Jog.

The conference got concluded with an impressive valedictory function and proposed vote of thanks by the organisers to all the guest speakers and participating delegates.
