Ludhiana, April 17, 2013: An emergency meeting of all the associations of the city has been organised in United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association under the presidentship of Gurmeet Singh Kular to discuss the problems being faced by the industrialists.
The main agenda for the meeting was the unfavourable behaviour of the Punjab government especially regarding hike in “Power tariff and VAT refund”.
Almost all the speakers of the different association exhibited their resentment against the hike in power tariff and non-refund of VAT. All the speakers were of the view to constitute a committee to take action. In the last the association’s spokesman KK Seth announced certain measures to be taken in this respect to show resentment against the government.
It was suggested to form an action committee in the name of “All Industries and Trade Forum”. Kular was announced as convener of the committee by all the sssociations’ representatives. Kular will nominate other members from the other associations of the city.
It was also decided to show resentment by wearing black flags on their shirts, stickers be prepared to put on the back of the cars written as “Sarkar Jago”. Still, it was decided to distribute pamphlet among the public, showing resentment about the hike in power tariff.
More than 40 associations of the city took part to make the meeting result oriented and successful, said Kular.
