ACTION: 3 Jail Warder booked in run-away of smugglers from Central Jail

Ferozepur, January 13, 2013: There is no clue yet of the run-away of two smugglers under-trials in Central Jail, Ferozepur in the crime cases of heroin smuggling and recovery of arms, after check up from the civil hospital, on the recommendations of doctor, on Friday afternoon identified as Rachhpal Singh,  a resident of Bhachhar Khurd (Chhabal), and Gurjant Singh , a resident of Havelian, of Sarai Amanat Khan, district Tarn Taran and the police is raided at the suspected places.

The police sources said, a  case has been registered on the statement of assistant superintendent of Central Jail, Ferozepur, three warder namely Malkiat Singh, Nirmaljit Singh and Chhinder Pal and two smugglers run-away from their custody and some unidentified persons.

The more surprising factor in this incident is that only a few days, both these smugglers were checked for chest pain by the Medical Officer of Jail who had recommended for check up from the Civil Hospital.  Till such time, the present Superintendent Jail was on duty, these smugglers were not taken for medical check up to the hospital and on January 11 when he was on leave, they were sent to the hospital without any police guard.

As per  sources, Capt L. S, Jakhar, DIG Jail, has reached the Central Jail to take spot assessment of the incident is being conducted minutely and some important clues are expected to come on surface.  Another source said, ADGP (Prisons) has taken the incident of escaping of under-trials after attacking and inuring three jail guards, seriously and recommended the dismissal of jail officials under rule 311B of Jail Manual.
