ACHIEVEMENT: Punjab’s first Rs. 3.25-Cr under-pass inaugurated in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, November 16, 2012: Punjab Minister for PWD, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon today inaugurated Rs.3.25 crore under-path outside Mini Secretariat here.

The newly inaugurated under-path is 44 meter long and 12 meter wide.

This under-pass has been constructed for convenience of the pedestrian.

The under-pass was locked for the past more than four months, after its completion. In-fact, it had been awaiting its inauguration.

The foundation stone of this project was laid by the Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal in November 2010. Initially, the project was supposed to be completed by November-end last. But due to certain unavoidable reasons, the work of completion of the project was delayed.

It may be worth-mentioned here that the project is the first-of-its-kind across Punjab. A total 9 shops are located inside the under-ass. The auction of these shops had been postponed twice because of poor interest shown by people. The first auction was held on July 23 and the second took place on October 10. Later on, local municipal corporation authorities decided to declare open this project and then auction the shops.

Speaking to the media persons at the time of inauguration of the project, Dhillon told that the state government was making all out efforts to make Punjab a dream state for people.
