AAP demanded CBI probe in drug Nexus

Capt failed to book the real culprits of drug trade: Dr. Balbir
Ludhiana, July 16, 2018: Co-President Aam Aadmmi Party Punjab, Dr.Balbir Singh accused Congress government in Punjab of lacking political will to break the alleged nexus between drug lords, police and political bigwigs, who were freely supplying drugs to the youth through their network and demanded CBI enquiry in the whole drug trade to unearth the real culprits and put them behind bars.
Dr. Balbir Singh was addressing a largely attended meeting of AAP Volunteers of District Ludhiana (Urban) on Shingaar Cinema Road here last evening. He claimed that the drugs, particularly heroine had taken a large section of Punjabi youth into its grip and thousands of families had been ruined.
Dr. Singh said that drug eradication was one of the main promises made by Congress Party election manifesto, even CM himself sworn holding Gutka Sahib in hands to completely eliminate drug abuse from Punjab in 4 weeks, but after the passage of more than a year, not even a single concrete step had been taken in this regard. He said that now even STF formed by Capt. Amarinder Singh himself had submitted its report and government was sitting on it, which reflect the real intensions government to save the influential culprits.
Dr. Balbir Singh asserted that Capt. government had completely disappointed people, as it proved to be a failure on all fronts including farm loan waiver, jobs to youth and control on sand gravel mafias etc. He added that AAP will launch special drive against drugs and special groups will be formed to nab the people involved in the trade. A dedicated helpline number will also be circulated among the people to give secret information about these anti social elements.
Referring to the organisational structure building of party in Punjab, Dr. Singh informed that all most all the wings of party had been formed and the whole structure up to block and village level will be completed by the end of this month. Later he lead a Mashaal March up to Samrala chowk to create awareness against drug abuse.
State General Secretary Mr. Ahbaab Grewal , State Spokesperson Darshan Singh Shankar , Suresh Goyal also addressed the meeting and assured their full cooperation in completing the organisational structure in the district.
On this occasion Amrit Shama who contested MC election from Ward no.90 along with his two dozen supporters joined AAP. Dr. Balbir Singh welcoming the new entrants assured them full respect in the party.
In the meeting Zone Mahila President Rajinderpal Kaur Chheena, Ravinderpal Singh Pali, Amarjit Singh, Puneet Sahni, Baldev Singh, Khazan Singh Matharoo, Harjit Singh, J S Ghuman, Sukwinder Singh, Prabhkaran Singh, Satwinder Satti and Nanak Singh were also present.
