Aakash Educational Services Limited celebrates

Chandigarh, October 4, 2019: As part of its efforts to give back to the society, Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), the national leader in test preparatory services, today celebrated 10 years of facilitating education of wards of Defence Personnel in its endeavour to salute and thank the selfless service of our Armed Forces to the Nation.
Taking the 10-year-old tradition ahead, AESL announces the continuation of the tuition fee waiver for children of Martyr’s for the next academic calendar starting November 2019. Scholarships for wards of Defence Personnel and those affected by terrorism will also continue for the upcoming year. Since 2010, the scholarship programme has benefitted 60,000 students.
Around 130 students received 100% tuition fee waiver scholarships during the last 10 years, while more than 28,000 got 20% and above scholarships in the tuition fee. Students are chosen on the basis of certificates of their personal and educational background. Wards of Martyr’s do not have to appear for any aptitude test for admission as is the case with the rest of the students. Many such students have gone on to obtain admission in prestigious medical and engineering colleges across the country like AIIMS, JIPMER, IIT etc.
Commenting on the scholarship for Martyr’s wards, Aakash Chaudhry, Co-Promoter and CEO of Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL) and Founder & Trustee of Plaksha University, said, “It is our humble endeavour at Aakash to thank the selfless service our armed forces provide to our nation. We are proud to have contributed in making a difference to the lives of around 60,000 children of Armed Forces heroes and are excited to extend the full scholarship for Martyr’s children and scholarships for Defence Personnel’s wards, this year as well. We have been taking this initiative since 2010 and every year it’s an overwhelming experience that in some way touches an emotional chord in our hearts.”
These scholarships are apart from the recently announced tenth edition of Aakash Institute’s annual scholarship exam, named as the Aakash National Talent Hunt Exam (ANTHE), which will be held on October 20 (Sunday) this year across 24 states & Union Territories in the country.
Being one of the largest private sector pan-India exams, ANTHE gives deserving students an opportunity to earn up-to 100% scholarship and helps them take the first step in their endeavor to become doctors and IITians. Students studying in Class VIII to XII can participate in the exam. Looking at the response and demand from students and parents, this year ANTHE is open to Class XI and XII students as well, unlike previous years.
