7th Sardarni Manjit Kaur Memorial Cricket Tournament kicks off at CT Group of Institutions

Jalandhar: 7th Sardarni Manjit Kaur Memorial Cricket Tournament started with great enthusiasm put in by the girl’s team of HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School and Jalandhar District Cricket Association (JDCA) at Shahpur Campus of CT Group of Institutions.
The five days tournament kicked off with this special match of both teams that played with full zeal in which JDCA gave the target of 134 runs in 20 overs. Out of both teams, the team Jalandhar District Cricket Association won the special match by 42 runs and bagged the cash prize of Rs. 3100 and team HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School stood second along with Rs. 2100.
The opening ceremony of the tournament marked the enlightening presence of CT Group Chairman Charanjit S Channi, Managing Director Manbir Singh, Punjab Cricket for Women Coach Ashutosh Sharma and HOD, Department of Sports CT Public School, Vikas Chaddha,
To declare the match open, CT Group Chairman played an over with the present teams.
The first official match will be played tomorrow between the teams from Holy Public School, Noida and SA Jain Model School, Haryana. The second match will be played between the teams from CT Public School Jalandhar and GGS Ratwara Sahib Mohali.  
Principal of CT Public School Daljeet Rana appreciated the efforts of girls for playing so wonderfully. He appreciated the efforts for taking this fantastic initiative in incorporating the team of girls in the tournament that reflects women empowerment.
Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group congratulated the participants of today’s special match and wished teams from other states a good luck for the tournament.
