78 Cases Out Of 112 Solved In National Lok Adalat

Ludhiana: On the directions of National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi and Punjab Legal Services Authority, a National Lok Adalat was organised at Courts Complex, here on Saturday, under the supervision of Mr AP Batra, Incharge, District and Sessions Judge, Ludhiana. For today’s National Lok Adalat, which was organised for the settlement of cases related to Motor Accident Claim and Insurance Claim, a total of three benches were set up. These benches were presided over by Mr AP Batra, Mr GK Dhir, Presiding Officer, District Consumer Forum, Ludhiana and Mr J S Chawla. For each bench, a social worker and a senior advocate were appointed as members.
For today’s National Lok Adalat, a total of 112 cases were put up, out of which 78 cases were solved amicably. The insurance companies deposited a sum of Rs 5,31,14,700. On this occasion, Mr Rajesh Bhagat, CJM cum Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Ludhiana informed that a large number of people took part in today’s Lok Adalat. He informed that on July 9, 2016, a Lok Adalat for cases related to electricity, water, telephone and other such services would be organised at Ludhiana.
