7-Day NSS Camp Commences at Ramgarhia Girls College

Jalandhar, December 22, 2018: A Seven –day NSS Camp was inaugurated today at Ramgarhia Girls College by S.Ranjodh Singh, President, Ramgarhia Educational Council. 150 Volunteers have enrolled for the Social Service Camp which is a Central Government Scheme to initiate students into Social participation and Welfare. The theme of the Camp for this year is ‘Swadeshi-Our Heritage, Our Pride.’ Globalisation and consumeriosm has had its flip side on Indian society and the youth have been weaned away from their rich culture and heritage.The NSS Camp this year is going to focus on the need to connect to our roots and find out a meaning in life beyond the digital maze in which we are lost. NSS Volunteers were addressed by Vice-Principal Dr.Ripandeep Kaur who spoke on the relevant issues concerning the Youth and Society. She said that whether it is fitness, eating habits or hygiene in our surrounding areas, everything needs to be looked at with the perspective of our ancestors to find a holistic growth in life. Under the stewardship of NSS Programme Officers Mrs.Ritu Sood , Mrs.Mandeep Kaur and Mrs.Preetika ,the Camp started on a promising note.
