HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School team wins special match with Rs. 31,00

Jalandhar, December 10, 20178: 6th Sardarni Manjit Kaur Memorial Cricket Tournament started with great enthusiasm put in by the girl’s team of HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School and Jalandhar District Cricket Association at Shahpur Campus of CT Group of Institutions.

The five days tournament kicked off with this special match of both teams that played with full zeal in which HMV girls gave the target of 108 runs in 20 overs. Out of the both teams, the team HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School won the special match by 46 runs and bagged the cash prize of Rs. 3100 and team Jalandhar District Cricket Association stood second along with Rs. 2100.

The opening ceremony of the tournament marked the enlightening presence of Chief Guest Heena Gupta, PPS, along with Manbir Singh, Managing Director, Harpreet Singh, Vice Chairman, CT Group of Institutions and Vikas Chaddha, HOD, Department of Sports. To declare the match open, PPS Heena Gupta played an over with the present teams.

The first official match will be played tomorrow between the teams from Corporative Secondary School, Jammu versus PPS Bathinda. The second match will be played between the teams from St. Stephen, Chandigarh and SA Jain Model School, Ambala.

Vice Principal of CT Public School Sukhdeep Kaur appreciated the efforts of girls for playing so wonderfully. She appreciated the efforts for taking this fantastic initiative in incorporating the team of girls in the tournament that reflects women empowerment.

Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group congratulated the participants of today’s special match and wished teams from other states a good luck for the tournament.

The tournament is supported by Coca Cola, Anthem Sports and IDM Sports.
