6th IAPT National Student Symposium on Physics (NSSP2018) on 4-6 October

Chandigarh, October 3, 2018: Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) in collaboration with Department of Physics, Panjab University Chandigarh is holding the 6th IAPT National Student Symposium on Physics (NSSP2018) during 4-6 October, 2018 in the Department of Physics, Panjab University, Chandigarh. This is a unique national forum for young students to present their new ideas and innovative work at an early stage which will lead to their growth as creative and original researchers. This program is supported by UT-DST, IAPT and Department of Physics, P.U.
Prof. R. G. Pillay, eminent physicist, Sr. Professor in IIT, will give a talk on the neutrinoless double beta decay. Prof. Arvind from IISER, Mohali will speak on `Quantum cryptography', a topic of lot of interest in Quantum Information and Quantum Communication protocols in recent times. Few other speakers shall present talks in different fields of Physics inspiring the young undergraduate and postgraduate students with motivational views on their current research interests.
Around 110 students from all over India shall be participating in this program. Several oral presentations and poster presentations shall be made during this period. Experts from different fields shall evaluate the posters presented by the participants.

BRIEF
Chandigarh: Under the ongoing celebration commemorating 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi ji, Yoga and meditation session was conducted at Interdisciplinary Center for Swami Vivekananda Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh for students of Department of Education. Shri Balwinder ji held the attention of participants with his lively method and techniques of infusing music and yoga in his sessions. This event was coordinated by Prof Nandita.
