Ludhiana, February 15, 2019: The Union government has chosen 62 villages of district Ludhiana under "Vatavaran Anukulit Pashudhan Utpadan Yojana". Under this scheme, a subsidy of Rs 2.25 lakh and Rs 1,12,500 would be provided for setting up of model cattle shed for 10 or 5 desi cows/buffaloes respectively in every village. This information was provided by Deputy Director, Dairy Development Department Mr Dilbagh Singh Hans, during an awareness camp organised for Dairy Department farmers at village Rajgarh, here. Around 135 dairy farmers attended this camp.
Mr Hans informed that under the "Mission Tandrust Punjab", efforts are being made to better the health of animals as well as humans. He said that as per the directions of Punjab government, the Dairy Development Department ensures that maximum number of dairy farmers are made aware about the schemes of state as well as the union government.
He further informed that under the "Vatavaran Anukulit Pashudhan Utpadan Yojana", a total of 62 villages of district Ludhiana, namely Rajgarh, Pakhowal, Nangal Khurd, Latala, Jand, Lohat Baddi, Kailey, Barundi, Johlan, Maherna Kalan etc have been chosen, under which a subsidy of Rs 2.25 lakh and Rs 1,12,500 would be provided for setting up of model cattle shed for 10 or 5 desi cows/buffaloes respectively in these villages.
Mr Hans informed that under this scheme, a total of 100 cattle sheds would be constructed, and 25 such sheds have already been constructed, while the farmers are being urged to submit applications for the construction of remaining sheds.

The awareness camp at village Rajgarh was inaugurated by Cooperative Society President and Sarpanch Mr Ranjit Singh. Prominent among those present on the occasion included Mr Dilbagh Singh Hans, Mr Malkit Singh Technical Officer Bija, Mr Darshan Singh Cheema Milkfed, besides several others.
