5-Day motivational training course concludes at PAU

Ludhiana, February 13, 2015: The experts of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) apprised the school students about biotechnology, mushroom production, beekeeping, natural resource management, drip irrigation, protected cultivation, and hydroponics technology during a five-day motivational training course, organized by the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Chandigarh in the University. The VIII pass out 32 students with 80 to 92 per cent marks from eight schools of Ludhiana attended the course. On the concluding day, parents of the students were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Guest, Dr Neelam Gulati, Director, Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Chandigarh called upon the students that knowledge gained about farm technologies will go a long way in developing your interest and shaping your career in agricultural sciences.

Arpan Sidhu highlighted the activities of the Council and mandate of the training course. She said that the students were educated about importance of sustainable agriculture and information technology as well.

Prof. Gurbhajan Gill, former Editor (Punjabi), encouraged the students to excel in academics as well as other fields. He urged the parents to devote more time to their wards.

Dr Anil Sharma, Assistant Director (TV), PAU informed that this programme was organised with the support of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Such programmes aim at inculcating scientific thinking among the students, he added.
