Ludhiana, October 1, 2019: Neeru Katyal Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Jagraon) has informed that 42nd meeting of District-level Micro Small Enterprises Facilitation Council was held today, in which five cases were settled.
She informed that 25 cases for arbitration were included in the meeting agenda today, out of which 5 cases with dispute/claimed amount of Rs.51 lakh were settled by the council.
Till date since November 2018, 84 cases of around Rs.12 crore dispute/claimed amount have already been settled by the council. She informed that as per the provisions of MSME Development Act 2006, the Punjab government has established District-level Micro Small Enterprises Facilitation Councils in five main districts of the state along with Chandigarh. The main aim of this council is the redressal of issues related to delayed payments of industrialists as per the provisions of the act.
Mrs Gupta informed that the stakeholders have to first apply on Samadhan Online Portal, after which the council tries to resolve these issues through conciliation proceedings with the approval of both the parties. And if the issue is not resolved through the conciliation proceedings, then the conciliation is terminated and the issue is resolved through arbitration.
This District-level Micro Small Enterprises Facilitation Council comprises of Deputy Commissioner as Chairman, District Lead Manager and General Manager District Industries Centre as convenor members, while two members from stakeholders are nominated by the Punjab government.
Neeru Katyal Gupta informed that no fee is charged for filing petition in this council, and there is no need to hire a lawyer. She informed that the industrialists can contact this council for summoning their venders anywhere in the country for the redressal of their issues. She informed that keeping in mind the development of industry, the meeting of this council is held at District Industries Centre Ludhiana every Tuesday.
