5 buffaloes electrocuted

Ludhiana, August 30, 2012: Five buffaloes were electrocuted at Kanganwal village, near here this afternoon.

According to Rakesh, the deceased buffaloes belonged to his uncle. He told that PSPCL employees were repairing overhead high tension (HT) wires at the time of incident.

He said the wires got broken accidently and fell into a pond where buffaloes were present. He said his uncle had suffered a loss of over Rs. 5 lakh.

Listening about the tragic incident, the villagers got assembled and staged a protest dharna. However, the villagers ended their protest after they were assured suitable action by the authorities concerned.
