400 PATIENTS examined and treated

Ludhiana, July 28, 2013: About 400 patients were examined and prescribed suitable treatment in a Free Medical Check-up Camp organised by Senior Citizens’ Welfare Association (SCWAL) in collaboration with Sahara Hospital Ludhiana and Mahal Hospital Goraya today in Govt. Dispensary at village Sunet.

According to SP Karkara, President, SCWAL, a team of  specialists in fields of general medicine, surgery, gynaecology, paediatrics, eye diseases and orthopaedics under the leadership of Dr. Davinder Mahal, Medical Director of these hospitals prescribed appropriate treatment on the basis of various radio diagnostic and blood tests carried out free on the patients. Medicines were also given free to the patients.

The camp was inaugurated by Dr. LS Chawla, founder Vice Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot Dr. Chawla said that such camps were necessary for timely detection of health problems as there is general tendency to consult specialists only when problem gets aggravated when it is too late.

DR Bhatti, former Director General Police, Punjab also visited the camp and applauded the work being done by SCWAL to provide specialist healthcare to those who cannot afford to go to expensive hospitals.

Dr. Sarjit Singh Gill, General Secretary, SCWAL thanked managements of collaborating hospitals and local residents who under the leadership of Dr. Hari Singh Brar, former councillor Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana and Er. Balbir Singh, Co- Chairman of Projects Committee of SCWAL extended full co-operation for the success of this camp.
