3800 participants to take part in Punjab State Games for Boy’s U-18

Ferozepure, October 19, 2019: As many as 3800 participants shall take part in Punjab State Games for Boy’s Under- 18 dedicated to 550th Parkash Purb of Sh.Guru Nanak Dev Ji being organized by Department of Sports at Saheed Bhagat Singh Stadium, Ferozepure from October 20th to 22nd, 2019 as stated by Sh Sanjay Popli, IAS, Director Sports, Punjab, here today in a press release. 400 officials have been deputed by the Sports Department for the smooth conduct of the Games. The aim to conduct these games is to encourage youth towards sports and give them chance in the field of sports and uplift Sports in the State. Giving detail of the competitions to be organized, Director Sports said that the 20 disciplines are Athletics, Basketball, Football, Hockey, Handball, Judo, Kabaddi National Style, Kabaddi Circle Style, Volleyball, Wrestling, Table Tennis, Roller Skating, kho-kho, Badminton, Archery, Boxing, Weightlifting, Fencing, Chess and Swimming. He also indicated the different venues for the conduct of the Games. According to him Athletics, Boxing, Table-Tennis and Volleyball at Saheed Bhagat Singh Stadium ground, Archery and Basketball at Dass And Brown School, Badminton at Indoor Hall Saheed Bhagat Singh Stadium, Football and Hockey at Saheed Bhagat Singh Technical College, Handball at Saheed Bahgat Singh Stadium and Govt. Sen. Sec. School for Boys, Judo and wrestling at Malwa Khalsa School, Rollar Skating at D. C. Model International School, Kho-Kho at H. M. School, Fencing at Govt. School for boys Indoor Hall, Chess at R. S. D. College, swimming at Zila Pareshad Swimming Pool, Weight Lifting at Stadium, Kabaddi (National Style and Circle style) at Cantonment Board School Ferozepure. Sh Chander Gaind, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepure convened a number of meeting with district administration to review all the arrangements for the Accommodation, Catering, Transportation, Medical, Security etc. District administration arranged the accommodation at different schools. Nagar at Railways Bal Neketan City, Patiala at Malwa Khalsa Primary School, Bagdadi Gate and Arun Jyoti Model Sr. Sec. School, Shri Mukatsar sahib at Saint Farid International School, S.A.S. Nagar at Bhullar English Medium School and Shri Hans Raj S.V., RoopNagar at Rohit Model School and BSM Sr. Sec. school, Bathinda at Sikh Kanya Maha Vidhyala, FatehGarh Sahib at Manavata Public Sr. Sec. Police Administration has made security arrangements for Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the places of stay and Game venues have been completed. Director Sports, also informed that Opening Ceremony will be held at Saheed Bhagat Singh Stadium, on Sunday, the 20th October 2019, at 10.00 AM. Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi Hon'ble Minister for Sports and Youth Services, Punjab will be the Chief Guest and formally inaugurate the tournament
