Chandigarh, May 5, 2015: As many as 323 students appeared for the Panjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test (PUTHAT) on May 3. 368 students had applied for the PUTHAT and 87.77 percent appeared in the test.

PUTHAT entrance test is conducted for admission to Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) and Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM) at University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management (UIHTM), PU Campus. There are 60 seats in Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) and 30 seats in Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM). There would be one additional seat each for only (single) girl child, cancer/AIDS patient, wards of Kashmiri displaced persons and wards of Kargil war.

The UIHTM is an upcoming premier institute of PU, which is offering education, training, research and consultancy in the field of hospitality, tourism, travel and allied sectors.
