3 workers die in major fire broke out in yarn factory

Ludhiana, May 7, 2016: A major fire broke out in the premises of a yarn factory, on the Bajra-Rahon road, falling in the Meharban area, resulting to which three workers succumbed to burn injuries.

The fire broke out in the wee hours on Saturday. The injured have been identified as Ashutosh alias Bunty, Satish and Prem- all migrants from Bihar and UP.

About 20 fire tenders were put in service to extinguish the factory. Fire fighters were able to control the fire after struggle for about six hours.

Heavy damage is said to have been caused to the goods and machinery in the factory premises. The reasons of the fire broke out are still not know.
