Students attend 3-days workshop at ATDC TOT Academy, Gurgaon.

Gurgaon, January 21, 2016: India’s largest specialized vocational training provider in the apparel sector, Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC) conducted a power packed training program on “Skill Knowledge and Enhancement in Teaching” on key areas of  Pedagogy, Textiles and Work-Study for a group of 20 candidates consisting of industry participants and ATDC own resources. The training was held at ATDC Gurgaon for 3 days. Trainers and Industry professionals from companies such as Shahi Exports, Neetee Apparels, Matrix Clothing, BlackBerrys, Lilly Fashions, Alpine Apparels, Group Indigo and ATDC’s own faculty resources participated in the training program.
 
This novel training program focused on Training Pedagogy and Innovative Instruction & Techniques. The workshop also threw light on each one’s role in the apparel industry and the critical importance of Team Building Skills & work attitudes. The workshop also focused on explaining the Work measurement & Operation Break Down in a ‘Methods Study’ format. Along with focusing on pedagogy of training, the workshop also dealt with topics like - Natural fibers (Cotton, Silk, and Wool), Manufactured fibers (synthetics and regenerated fibers; Polyester, Viscose, Rayon, Modal, Tencel). The training proved particularly beneficial to employees working at the properties of fabric that impact the production.
 
Speaking at the valedictory function Dr. Darlie Koshy, DG&CEO ATDC & IAM said “With Vietnam and Bangladesh competing in their meteoric rise to cross 30 billion US $ exports, India has only two ways forward: “Improve fashion productivity which immerge value addition in exports and /or improve productivity to bring down costs and improve margins.  To improve productivity intensive training is required at all levels. This novel training programme offered an approach to training within specific focus on fabric knowledge and Industrial Engineering etc. thus addressing two of the weakest areas in the current workforce.
 
  This workshop was conducted by ATDC-ToT Academy, with the aim of training to work smart to optimize resources. The institute for long has been setting benchmarks and overall quality parameters for those in the apparel sector. The key objective of the academy is to bring about an overall systematic change in the apparel industry by providing cutting-edge skill-set training.
 
TOT Head, ATDC, Ms. Roopali Shukla said “This type of  training is very essential in today’s context where the comprehensive knowledge of technologies in tandem with the raw material like fabrics is required to improve and enhance productivity in the factories to be globally competitive. Further training teams within the organization through cross training by experts is becoming imperative to keep the teams motivated.”
 
Speaking on the occasion, a delighted participant Mr. Ashok Chauhan, Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd said, “I thank ATDC-TOT Academies serving the Apparel Industry by providing skilled trainers and domain experts to help in achieving its skilling and upgradation goal”.
The training saw overwhelming response from trainers and industry professionals and each participant was awarded with the participation certificate.
