250 students conferred degrees in convocation at GGN Khalsa College
Ludhiana, November 23, 2019: The convocation function was organised in Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana in which 250 degrees have been conferred with degrees.
Prof (Dr) Mohan Pal Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bhatinda presided over the event as the chief guest. It started with a melodious Shabad Gaayan. Dr S.P.Singh (former Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar) Honourary General Secretary, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council and Dr Arvinder Singh, college Principal extended a floral welcome to the chief guest.
Dr.S. P. Singh, in his welcome-speech told about the glorious history of the college and said that this is an institution where students are taught and trained in art of realizing their dreams. He also said that the students have brought laurel to the college by being successful in various fields like academic, administrative, judiciary, politics, social service, literary activities and sports. He congratulated the students and wished them all a very bright and prosperous future.
The chief guest of the event, Prof (Dr) Mohan Pal Singh Ishar applauded and congratulated the worthy members of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council, Principal, teachers and students in his presidential remarks. He said that Science and Technology has an important role to play in the present day education system. This major changes in the education system has brought the opportunity for the students to flourish and succeed in various fields. Indian education system is undergoing tremendous changes in the present scenario. UGC and AICTE have introduced various skill oriented courses to make the education skill oriented. Present scenario is such when securing a degree is not the only requirement but it is also important to have the skills to get a job as well.
Principal Dr Arvinder Singh expressed gratitude to the chief guest, the members of the management committee, teachers and students and said that the convocation day is one of the most memorable and the most precious day in a student’s life. He said that the students must be well trained to confront all the upcoming challenges of life. He further added that it is mandatory for each and every student to work hard, be honest and reach their goal by following the rule of single mindedness, devotion and persistence which will help them to make their family and their educational institution proud of them.
The chief guest, Prof (Dr) Mohan Pal Singh Ishar was honoured by Dr. S. P. Singh and the college Principal Dr. Arvinder Singh at the end of the event. S. Bhagwant Singh, S. Hardeep Singh members of the management committee, Prof Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT/GGNIVS and Prof Shikha Sehajpal spared time from their valuable and busy schedule to be a part of this proud event. Prof. Paramjit Singh & Prof. Jatinder Kapoor conducted the stage in commendable manner.
