Ludhiana, August 19, 2018: On the occasion of world photography day, Ludhiana photojournalist Association started today, a two-day photo exhibition at Dr.Mahindra Singh Randhawa Art Gallery, Punjabi Bhawan near Bharat Nagar chowk Ludhiana. The exhibition was inaugurated by Punjab's Food and Civil Supplies Minister Mr.Bharat Bhushan Ashu, MP Ravneet Bittu, Mr.Balkar Singh Sandhu, Mayor Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana in the presence of the Chairman of Sarbat Da Bhala Trust, Dr.S.P Singh Oberoi.
The guests watched the exhibited photos and complimented the photojournalists as well. The theme of the exhibition is "one thousand's words" where photojournalists from different newspapers showcased their work. A total of 48 pictures by 24 photojournalists have been presented in this exhibition which represents various moods of Ludhiana and Ludhianvis. President of Ludhiana Photojournalist Association, Mr. Gurmeet Singh welcomed the guests.
On this occasion, Punjab’s food and civil services minister, Mr, Bharat Bhushan Ashu appreciated the work of photojournalists and said a single photo reflects the expression of the entire page's writings. He promised every possible support to the association. Mr. Ashu and the mayor, Mr. Sandhu also promised to provide an office and art gallery for Ludhiana photojournalist Association.
Punjab Kala Parishad’s Chairman, Padamshree Surjeet Patar appreciated work of photojournalists and said whatever happens is portrayed in the photos taken by the photojournalists which aware the people itself. They never stop and work in all circumstances.
MP Ravneet Bittu and Minister Ashu honoured senior photojournalist Harinder Singh Kaka for his contribution for decades.
President of Punjab Press Club, Mr Promod Batish awarded a cheque of 25 thousand rupees to LPJA and Dr.SP Singh Oberoi of Sarbat Da Bhala Trust gave a cheque of 51 thousand rupees to the association.
On this occasion, office-bearers and members of LPJA along with Ramgharhia Education Trust president Ranjodh Singh, Punjab Halwai Association President Narinder pal Singh, Jaswant Singh Chappa, Sarbat Da Bhala Trust district president Tej Pratap Singh Sandhu and office-bearers of Punjabi Bhawan were also present.
