Jalandhar, May 23, 2015: “In change management doing the right things even somewhat wrongly at times- is more than doing wrong things right all the time,” Dr Juhani Nieminen (Project Executive, Adjunct Professor, Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Finland) shared his salubrious thoughts in his plenary session on Management of Change topic at the second day of International Multi Track Conference-15 (IMTC-15) organized by CT Group of Institutions.
Dr. Nieminen said, “The world is not a thing. It is a complex, never-ending, always changing tapestry. Higher education has a role in preparing those who will lead mankind to manage the ever more demanding challenges. Some reasons includes- teaching of critical thinking, decision making capacity and other meta-skills that has become ever more important in change management – or managing in change.”
The day witnessed another enlightening plenary talk by Dr. Jai Prakash Sharma (Professor and Head, Delhi School of Economics) on the topic of ‘Corporate Governance’. Dr. Sharma informed that nearly One third of the Indian public listed companies promoted and managed by families. The families took 75 to 80 percent of stake which led their failure only, whenever company collapsed. This has led the low rate of industry failure in India. But the ratio of fraud is increasing constantly.”
He said, “The increasing fraud rate can be decreased. As it is said- Corporate Governance is not with the people but with Good Governance that contains- commitment to values, ethical conduct of business and exercise of power in the responsible manner.”
