Jalandhar, November 7, 2014: 2-day International Conference on ‘Future and Challenges of Computational and Integrated Sciences’ started at HMV on 7th Nov., 2014. Prof A.S. Brar, Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar graced this occasion as Chief Guest of the conference. Justice N.K. Sud, Vice President, DAVCMC, New Delhi and Chairman Local Committee made his benign presence as Presiding Guest of the Inaugural Session of the conference.
Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj accorded a warm welcome to the guests. In her welcome address, she introduced all the guests to the delegates and laid stress on the judicious use of the ICT tools. After lighting the ceremonial lamp and Saraswati Vandana, Dr. Sangeeta Arora, Convener of the conference informed the audience that this conference would provide a platform for academicians, analysts and professionals to discuss the technological advances, problems and solutions.
Dr. Bhanu Prasad, Director R&D, Kelen Technology, France was the keynote speaker in this session. In his keynote address he talked about the latest softwares and applications which are fully automatic and fully operational in day to day life. Dr. Sonika Tyagi, Bioinformatics Team Supervisor, Australian Genome Research Facility Ltd., Australia and Dr. Nkubana Andrew, Head, Research Development and Laboratory, Rawanda were the Research Scholars who also addressed the audience in this session. In his address, Justice N.K. Sud, the Presiding Guest told the audience to set a definite goal in life without which they could not gain anything.
Dr. A.S. Brar, the Chief Guest said that the teachers should update themselves. Moreover, he pointed out that infrastructure is most of the times underutilized. Therefore, efforts should be made for its proper utilization. Moreover, the proceedings of the conference were released in the inaugural session which were followed by formal declaration of opening of the conference by Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj. More than 400 delegates and paper presenters from all over India and abroad attended this conference. Meenakshi Syal, Dean Academics provided the vote of thanks.
During the inaugural session, Registrar DAV University Jalandhar Dr. Satish Kapoor, Principal A.L. Sangal, Principal Veena Williams, Dr. Sushma Chawla were also present. After tea break, 4 technical sessions started at 4 different venues in which research scholars presented their papers. After lunch break, 4 more technical sessions were held.
In the evening, a cultural event was also organized for the guests to make them aware of the rich culture and heritage of Punjab. Chief Guest of the occasion was Sh. Sanjeev Kalra, ADGP, PAP Jalandhar. He visited Saada VIrsa Heritage Centre, Skill Development Centre and Library. The students performed Folk Orchestra, Classical Dance, Folk Song, Mimicry and Giddha to entertain the guests.
Aruna and Parduman presented a sufi song. Cultural Evening was followed by Dinner. On this occasion, M. Syal, Anil Bhasin, Gullagong, Gurmeet Singh, Sangeeta Bhandari, Jagjit Bhatia, Ravinder Mohan Jindal, Urvash, Sonia Mahendru, Pardeep Mehta, Purnima and other faculty members were present.
