Jalandhar, October 16, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar’s Two-Day Exhibition-cum-Sale Exotica-19 concluded successfully at Virsa Vihar.
On the first day the exhibition was inaugurated by DC, Jalandhar, Sh Varinder Kumar Sharma, Mrs Neerja Chandar Mohan (Member KMV Managing Committee) & Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi. It was an enterprise aimed at achieving the 'Earn While you Learn' theme which is the hallmark feature of academics related to skill development at K.M.V. Many of the products sold were hand-made by the students themselves. The other products were purchased selectively and creatively keeping their salability and profits in mind.
The exhibition which is an annual feature is getting bigger and better every year. The young budding entrepreneurs sold a wide variety of fancy diyas, gift packings, jewellery, Suits, Sarees, Kurtis, torans, bed-sheets, cushion covers, shirts, towels-set, masks, file folders, wall-hangings, paintings, handmade chocolates, makeup accessories, healthy snacks, wax & gel candles etc. It was like a Diwali-bazaar come alive under one roof. The customers went back with a smile of satisfaction on their faces and left appreciative comments in the visitors' book at the sales counter. The proceeds would go to the Deserving Students Fund of the college. The exhibition was a collective effort of PG Department of Fashion Designing, PG Department of Fine Arts, Department of Home Science, PG Department of Cosmetology and Department of Food Science. The students got an opportunity to showcase their talents in this exhibition.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that this type of initiative motivates the students to enhance their entrepreneurial skills and provides them a platform to display their talents in front of the whole world.
