2-day capacity building programme on “six waste management rules, 2016” concludes

Ludhiana, August 22, 2019: The two-day Capacity Building Programme on “Six Waste Management Rules, 2016” concluded on Friday. The event was organised by National Productivity Council, Chandigarh in association with Municipal Corporation Ludhiana (MCL) and Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana. While inaugurating the programme, Kanwalpreet Brar, Municipal Commissioner, Ludhiana thanked NPC to organize this event in Ludhiana and stressed that all stakeholders must put joint efforts in Waste Management and implementing Waste Management Rules, 2016. She urged all participants to put collective efforts in making Ludhiana city cleaner and make Ludhiana city in top rank during swachh survekshan 2020. The program will cover key provisions of Six Waste Management Rules, various issues in implementation of these rules and related success stories /case studies. The program is being attended by more than 200 participants covering various stakeholders S.P.Singh, Regional Director, NPC, Chandigarh welcomed the dignitaries and participants and shared his experiences of Waste Management and waste management rules, 2016 Inaugural Session was attended by dignitaries Manjit Singh Cheema, Joint Commissioner, MCL, Upkar Singh Ahuja ,President CICU, Jagbir Singh Sokhi ,President SMD, Jatinderpal Singh ,Chairman & Founder SAMBHAV, S.P. Singh , Regional Director, NPC Chandigarh, S.B. Singh ,Joint Secy. CICU, Mr. Atul Mehta, SS Grewal ,Director Students Affair C.T. University & Baljeet Kaur ,Co-owner WOW and Majit Singh, Director NSTI. During this 2 day Workshop provisions of six waste management rules will be explained and discussed by Kabir Kadian, Director, SolGrow Consulting, Ulhas Parlikar, Waste Management Consultant, Arun Kumar Sharma ,CEO EPC India Pvt. Ltd., Priti Mahesh, Chief Program Coordinator in Toxics Link and Mohit Jindal, Director, Cosmos Recycling.
